Princeton YMCA Receives Grant from Princeton Area Community Foundation to Support Summer Camp
Princeton, New Jersey, June 24, 2025 – Princeton YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, has received a $25,000 grant from the Princeton Area Community Foundation to support its summer camp programs, which include swimming lessons and a strong social-emotional learning component. The grant will be used to provide scholarships to under resourced youth living in the Princeton community.
The Princeton Area Community Foundation is awarding a total of $487,500 in 2025 Summer Initiative grants to 21 local nonprofits that offer camps and programs designed to prevent summer learning loss and provide affordable childcare for working families.
Princeton YMCA’s Camp Falcon offers a wide variety of experiences to meet the interests of every child. With both traditional multi-activity and specialty camp options—including sports, dance, STEM, and teen travel. Camp Falcon serves children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade in September.
Camp Falcon is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), which sets the highest national standards for day camps. This seal of approval means the Y meets up to 300 rigorous health, safety, and program quality standards, underscoring its commitment to providing a safe, enriching environment for all campers.
“On behalf of the entire Princeton YMCA community, we thank the Princeton Area Community Foundation for supporting summer camp at Princeton YMCA,” said Heather Scapp, Branch Executive Director of Princeton YMCA. “Ensuring the families we serve have access to a safe and fun summer is central to our mission. This generous grant will allow us to reach more families and further integrate social-emotional learning into our daily camp activities and beyond.”
