The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. At Greater Somerset County YMCA, we believe that everyone—no matter who they are or where they’re from—deserves the opportunity and the resources necessary to reach their full potential. We provide direct financial assistance to our neighbors in need—made possible through the generosity of our Y’s Annual Campaign donors and proceeds from special fundraising events. The Y’s Financial Assistance program is available to anyone who meets the financial guidelines of the program, lives or works in our service area and has the desire to participate in YMCA programs or services.
Applying for Financial Assistance with Greater Somerset County YMCA
If you are interested in applying for financial assistance, please:
- DOWNLOAD the Financial Assistance Application packet
- GATHER the required supporting documentation (refer to the Financial Assistance Checklist on page 2 of the packet)
- SUBMIT the confidential application with all required supporting documentation to the appropriate Greater Somerset County YMCA location, via mail or email to:

Once we have received all necessary documentation, your request will be reviewed . The review process will take between 2-4 weeks.
To ensure our financial assistance funds reach those with the greatest need, we strongly encourage families to first apply to state-subsidized child care assistance programs (CCCS or CCCC). Families who complete the CCCS/CCCC process may be eligible for up to 75% assistance through our program. Those who are ineligible for or unable to first apply to CCCS/CCCC may still be considered for up to 25% assistance.
